Vaipuna No Te Here - "Source of Love" - was founded in 2015 by Director Stephanie Montemayor Manuel, "Kanoekuahiwi." Stephanie has been teaching various dances from the islands of Tahiti and Hawai'i for over 20 years. She created Vaipuna No Te Here in order to spread the spirit of Aloha and share the knowledge of the Polynesian Culture through music and dance. She has had the privilege to learn and expand her knowledge of Tahitian and Hawaiian culture working closely with world-renowned Kumu Hula and Directors from Hawai'i, Tahiti and the Mainland. As a village, we instill strong beliefs of 'ohana, love, respect, humility, and compassion in our haumana, which is reflected through their love of the culture and their dancing.
As a Pupu 'Ori/Hui (dance group) located in Sacramento, California, Vaipuna No Te Here has performed all over California for parties, festivals, competitions, and fundraisers. They are an award-winning pupu ori, having competed in 'Ori Tahiti Group and Solo Competitions all over California. If you would like to become part of our ohana and learn hula and Tahitian dance or inquire about performing at your next event, contact us! Mahalo!
